By May, we are usually starting to escape winter and get consistently warmer weather as summer draws near. We like to celebrate by doing a “Metric Century” group ride on paved roads around Fargo-Moorhead. A metric century is 100km or about 62 miles, which is a challenging but ‘do-able’ distance. Get your bike out of storage, tune it up, and join us for this fun group ride!
Where: Departing from Centennial Elementary School (Parking Lot NE of the School)
When: Wheels roll at 9 AM, Saturday 5/16
Route: TBD (weather/wind dependent)
Distance: 100 KM (62ish miles)
Pacing: 16-18 mph (depending on wind). The group will be maintaining a 16-18 mph speed in a paceline. Riders should be comfortable riding in a group and comfortable with drafting. If you are inexperienced in riding in groups, it is suggested to go on group rides prior. Great Northern Bicycle Company has group rides Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights
There will be at least one stop at a gas station.
